“If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome." ― Anne Bradstreet
Today marks the launch of the Kalā Wines website.
It is also the vernal equinox, the first day of Spring. Around the world the first day of Spring symbolizes new beginnings and renewal. As I look forward to sharing our new website with you, I’d like to share with you the reason why this is such an auspicious day for all of us here at Kalā Wines.
We are located in the heart of Northern California wine country - Sonoma County. As many of you know, in October 2017, Sonoma County experienced one of the most destructive wild fires in California’s history. Our office and our home were burned to the ground during these fires. We were blessed that our bottled wine was in a temperature controlled storage and escaped the fires. So did our winery with our hand-crafted, artisanal wines maturing slowly in barrels.
Unfortunately, however, our planned Fall launch was delayed as we recovered from the fires.
During the Autumn of 2013, in a tiny Napa vineyard, the Malbec grapes that would eventually be gently crafted into our inaugural vintage were harvested by hand. Today, we open our virtual doors and share our passion for food friendly wines with you. Kalā, is the ancient Sanskrit word for art. Kalā Wines is dedicated to the purest possible expression of the grape and to create classically structured wines that pay tribute to the diverse cuisines that span our world. Thank you for being a part of our new beginning.
